Century City houses 220,000 square miles of prime office space with over 35,000 people working in the area and up to 21 million visiting the busy shopping precinct every year. Crystal Towers Hotel and Spa, a 180-bedroom boutique hotel has a dominant position in this urban hub, and has been designed to meet the needs of discerning business travellers. Getting around is easy, with the N1 highway nearby - connecting to the city centre, waterfront, and Cape Town International Airport, which is less than 15km away.
African Pride has created another hotel that is iconic, yet understated. At least from the outside: The façade is all flat expanses and dressed stone. Entering the Courtyard, the cantilevered swimming pool suspended over the entrance is something of a surprise. There are more revelations inside. The reception area is flooded with light and colour, and what appears a vast lounge is merely a waiting area where guests can relax whilst checking-in or waiting for transfers. Huge fibre option curtains loop around the entrance and the bar, and large star-shaped fittings appear to float above the entire area. Doorways are created from gigantic wooden frames, and colours themselves define spaces - replacing walls and doors to create one large open plan space. The design is truly inspiring.
Crystal Towers is located along a palm-lined canal, with superb views towards the awing Table Mountain. Guests can use a steel suspension bridge to cross the canal, and visit the Canal Walk Centre. This popular shopping mall is one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Onsite is the Wellness Spa, offering a selection of treatments, access to a relaxing sauna or steam rooms, and fully equipped gym. There is also the - suspended - pool where guests can swim or simply enjoy a cocktail whilst taking in the views.
The Towers Restaurant boats world-class chefs who blend a myriad of cooking styles and flavours to delight guests and re-fuel those busy businessmen. The Deli offers a more relaxed, informal dining experience with a selection of speciality drinks, pastries, cakes and other light snacks. Complimentary bar snacks are on offer in the large bar lounge. There are also unique private lounges themed in honour of legends Kingsley Holgate and David Kramer – guests can browse the memorabilia whilst enjoying a glass of fine whiskey or cognac.
The rooms are stylish and plush. Guests will find the expected mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, large safe and wireless Internet access. There is a large flat screen TV (which neatly rises from the base of the bed) complimentary DVD’s and a host of satellite channels. Each room also features a number of impressive features: a free standing luxury bath, a ‘Crystal shower’ (raindrop showerhead), LED mood lighting, climate control air-conditioning and executive work desks with International plug points.
The Towers Business Centre provides the ideal setting for professional meetings and conferences to executive events, exhibitions and product launches. The large conference venue seats 300 delegates and includes state-of-the-art boardrooms, complimentary wireless Internet access as well as full business and secretarial services. The entire hotel is geared for business travellers, but any visitor to Cape Town would enjoy a stay at this iconic luxury hotel.
