The newly built Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra - Ghana - should open its doors to guests by May 2011. It will be known as Ghana’s first five-star hotel. This project is a joint venture between the government of Ghana and the Saudi Prince and businessman, Al Waleed Bin Talal.
The 260-room Movenpick Ambassador Hotel will offer a Presidential suite, a restaurant with a seating capacity of 350 seats, and all facilities related to international standards. There are also plans to build private housing for outright purchase.
Recruitment for some 300 staff has reportedly already started. Intensive training to high quality of service will be done before the grand opening.
Higher standards in the hotel industry in Ghana are expected from new hotel in Accra. A Kempinski five-star hotel is also due to open in Accra in 2012.
